ADD CRAYFISH TO YOUR NYS POND

Crayfish are a nice supplement to a farm pond as they are an extra source of food for your game fish. Crayfish also eat both dead and living plant and animal material which helps reduce the amount of decaying material. Available for a few weeks!

What is a Hybrid Bluegill?

What are hybrid bluegills?

Hybrid bluegills are a cross between a male bluegill and a female green sunfish, yielding high numbers of male offspring, leading to less overpopulation than with other bluegill species. Hybrid bluegills grow quickly as they are aggressive feeders and will eat fish food pellets if offered. These vigorous eaters are easy and fun to catch. Call 607-659-3474 or msg to set up a pickup appointment.

Feeding My Pond Fish

4/9/2024

Do I need to feed the fish I stocked into my pond?

Stocking a few fish in an established pond can be sustainable with naturally occurring zooplankton, insects and invertebrates. Reasons for supplementing their diet include: (1)new ponds with little pond life, (2)the introduction of a quantity or combination of new fish, and (3) the goal of increased fish growth. Adding fathead minnows or fish food are two ways Fish Haven Farm can help boost the nutrition of your fish. Call 607-659-3474 for a pickup appointment.

New Owners

In 2023, former owners Rick and Pat Musa sold Fish Haven Farm to local residents and friends, Alex and Andrea Weisz. It continues to be a family-owned and operated business. With an emphasis on recirculating aquaculture systems and local fish raising, they strive to incorporate more resource efficient and eco-friendly practices to pond fish stocking. In addition to the 10 fish species, pond products, aerators and services provided in the past, the new owners have added the sale and installation of docks to their inventory. Alex, Ane, and Fish Farm Manager Noah Cantella, are happy to assist you with your pond goals!
